What is Chiropractic?

The body is a neuro-chemical system.

Because physical performance is dependent on proper communication between brain and muscles and organs, we focus on removal of obstructions to this nerve flow.

As nerve impulses travel from the brain to the target organs or muscles they may become diminished by physical obstruction, biochemical changes or neuro-emotional imbalances. This obstruction which curtails nerve flow is called subluxation.

With subluxation, both sensory and motor functions of the nervous system are diminished. The body becomes less sensitive to physical signals, making us unaware when activities are leading to dysfunction. This continuum progresses from subluxation to dysfunction to symptoms to disease. At the extreme we lose capability of accurately controlling our own bodily functions.

Subluxation -> Dysfunction -> Symptoms -> Disease

This is why we practice Complete Wellness and Chiropractic Care. 

We believe in treating the individual as a whole.  We want to make sure that we are addressing all of the patients physical, biochemical, and neuroenergetic needs to restore them to a level of health that is complete.

That means using a variety of different adjusting techniques.  Dr. Santucci uses gentle and effective methods of chiropractic on his patients, but not all methods are suited to all inviduals.
